Paella Rice

We cooked up our first paella. Substituted octopus for squid, but it threw us off a bit, as we've never prepared octopus before, and it came up a bit rubbery. We have some room for improvement, but overall, it was quite tasty! And just how great is the packaging on this rice?!

Box of Matches

I am officially just over the 1/3 mark of my "365 Days in My Kitchen" series. When I started, my sister-in-law asked me if I was worried about running out of things. Nah...I said. Now, I'm not so confident. Despite these three illustrations, I think produce will be my saving grace.

Wee plastic piggy played Wilbur in my son's Charlotte's Web diorama He's been on a little ledge in the kitchen since coming back home. Maybe it's a girl. I dunno.

Some illustrations I like much better than others, which I suppose is to be expected. On some days, it's all I can do to manage to squeeze in an illustration and post it, but that first part is exactly why I challenged myself to this project in the first place. The most uncomfortable part has been to post something to "the world" that I don't totally love myself, but I'll just call that some form of being brave and carry on :).

Thanks for reading!
